It's free. Free as in freedom. No ads, no selling of your data. Due to no revenue, we might close registration, but existing users can continue using the service. You can also donate to us if you want.

where do i register?

Signing up is easy. Open our web client and click on register. Or you can install a matrix client like Element, enter our server URL: matrix.armadix.net, and register. We need a username, password, and an email (to prevent spam and for password resets). See our security practices for secure sign-up. We plan on allowing registration without an email in the future.

how do i use ntfy?

Download the ntfy app, open it > settings > standard server > "ntfy.armadix.net". Then open your matrix client (e.g., Element), go to settings, notifications, and select ntfy as the notification method. Note: Not all matrix clients support ntfy. Ntfy is also available for other uses.

privacy

Like any Matrix Homeserver, we collect certain types of data. This includes IP addresses, which are retained for a maximum of 28 days, email addresses for account sign-up, contacts, unencrypted chat messages (such as those in public rooms), and encrypted chats. This occurs when you use or register for our service. It's important to note that we do not sell or share your data, with the exception of complying with valid legal requests from the Swiss government. Our services operate on physical hardware located in Switzerland. You have the right to request the deletion of your data by contacting us at contact@armadix.net GPG. Additionally, you can delete your account using a matrix client. If you wish to access the data we have stored about you, please contact us at contact@armadix.net GPG, providing your matrix username and connected email address. We will verify your identity, for instance by contacting you via Matrix and email, after which you will receive a zip file (optionally GPG encrypted) containing all your data. Our servers are fully disk encrypted for enhanced security. This privacy policy is effective as of December 8, 2023, and may change without notice. Please contact us if you have any questions.

hosting

Our services are hosted on our own hardware in switzerland. Only Admins have access to the physical hardware. We perform daily (encrypted) backups to a secondary storage server and weekly (encrypted) backups to a third server at a different location. We use cloudflare for dns, not for cdn.

rules

Anything illegal under Swiss law, spamming and harrasing is prohibited and will result in account termination. As we don't access encrypted chats, we don't actively monitor for violations. To report rule-breaking, please contact abuse@armadix.net GPG or @admin:armadix.net, with proof.
